From the fringe: advancing issues that can grow our ranks.
This workshop will explore how the Green Party can grow our ranks by appealing to “fringe” issues that show corruption and the need for accountability. Foundational issues like workers’ rights and living wage, medicare for all, fighting climate change, and opposing war, are primary demands. However, fringe issues are a way into the hearts and minds of many Americans. Think JFK; other 60’s assassinations; 9/11 and more. The Green Party US platform calls on Greens to fight the endemic corruption of the military industrial complex, the national security / surveillance state, and corporate domination. Demanding investigation into the September 11th, 2001 false flag event, calling for democratization of the monetary system, demanding justice for Covid, challenging the power of the surveillance state, for example, are issues the Green Party should emphasize, and if we did more loudly, we could expand our appeal as champions for democracy and justice. This workshop will provide rhetorical tactics to advance fringe issues that discredit the power elite, and show the need for a Green Party that demands accountability and justice.
Going Fringe: growing the party ; building a movement.
What is the Green Party movement? It’s electoral and grass roots activism advancing issues. It is the collective aspiration of greens to transform society in ways that actualize the 4 key values, from the 4 pillars, Peace / non-violent world; grass roots democracy; justice (social and economic and political); and ecological wisdom, the restoration and revival of nature and bio-diversity. Green Party advances candidates, candidates define their campaigns, but the grass roots engage in local issues and support coalition issues.
To be clear, the idea of “going fringe” is inspired by the Green pillar for non-violence and peace, being opposed to militarism. At bottom, fringe issues are examples of state violence committed against the country.
The fringe issues I will be highlighting are expressions of corruption from the state in collusion with corporations and other big money interests.
The pillar for non-violence impels Greens to call out the violence committed by state and corporate actors. Elevating fringe issues from the dust-bin of “conspiracy theories” is a way for the Green Party movement to show leadership by cutting through the fog of war and calling “fringe” issues what they generally speaking are: state crimes.
The Green Party stance on non-violence impels us to speak against state crimes, and this means going to fringe issues. (See the work of Aaron Good on American Exceptionalism and the nature of state power, and the role of deep state in empire building).
Fringe issues often qualify as state crimes against democracy, a term Lance Dehaven Smith coined in 2006 but discusses in his 2014 book, Conspiracy Theory in America. https://www.amazon.com/Conspiracy-Theory-America-Discovering/dp/0292757697
Deep state actors commit state crimes; see the work of Aaron Good.

“Fringe” issues are topics that trigger claims of “conspiracy theory;” “fringe issues” relatively speaking are taboo, if raised, they get smeared with slurs and other fallacies, many ‘fringe issues’ are topics that qualify as state crimes against democracy.
Indeed, conspiracy theory is code for a state crime, generally speaking.
Meanwhile, under a broad framework for movement building and candidate recruitment, this workshop argues we can grow our ranks by highlighting “fringe” issues, and elevating them in the Party media actions, and providing candidates with talking points.
However, we are mindful that going fringe is not popular; going ‘fringe’ can have its pitfalls, and to many going ‘fringe’ is considered a liability to the Green brand, if you will.
If approached reasonably, I think “going fringe” will enhance and energize the Green Party brand, and help build a movement. We can avoid pitfalls by developing powerful rhetoric that cuts through the big lies, and false narratives, put out by deep state and their corporate lackeys.
A majority of Americans do not trust the government; going fringe taps into this sentiment.
If the Green Party and candidates highlight fringe issues, we would show Green Party courage and determination to get justice for state crimes against our democracy, a theme a wide swath of Americans are in agreement with on account distrust in government is so high.
Going fringe is about demanding justice for big lies and corruption of government and objecting vociferously to the failure by members of congress to uphold their duty to the US Constitution, especially the duty to protect the nation from domestic and foreign enemies. Fringe issues often are about deep state acting against the people, which qualifies deep state as a source of domestic violence that has never been challenged by Congress, much less the courts, since the Church Commission way back in the 1970’s.
A majority of Americans want justice and accountability; but no one thinks we can actually achieve this.
Green Party establishment avoids ‘fringe’ issues.
Jill Stein, in 2020, remarked to a question on a video recording that her campaign would avoid “fringe.” and in fact, her Campaign Manager Jason Call told an Oregon green party convention that Jill’s campaign would not address “vaccines.” In an earlier campaign Jill acknowledged that the September 11 attacks was an “inside job,” and apparently she took a lot of heat for making this statement. But if she stood by her stance, she would have gotten the attention of many in the truth movement.
By avoiding fringe issues, the Green Party neglects its role as a dissident party whose task is to be the conscience of society, I would argue.
Fringe issues that we don’t generally discuss, or criticize, in the Green Party: chemtrails / aka illegal geo-engineering; electromagnetic frequency pollution from cell towers, etc; the corruption of the banking system from the billionaire class; the false flag September 11 attacks; the JFK assassination and the big lie of the Warren Commission Report; electoral theft, and so many more issues.
The childhood vaccine schedule and mandated healthcare, the claim that the Covid event itself as a contrivance of the national security state, are fringe.
Certainly JFK, the other 60’s assassinations, Iran Contra; September 11th false flag, the anthrax attack, election theft, are state crimes against democracy, carried out by deep state, that both Aaron Good and Lance Dehaven Smith cite.
We have a moral duty to lead on fringe issues.
State crimes, and the cover ups they spawn, are violations of the oath of office by those in power who have a duty to look out for the general welfare of the country and abide by the constitutional rules; a state crime, and the cover up, shows the violation of the oath. A SCAD is an act of treason, and conspiracy to murder.
Two issues from the Green Party platform that shouldn’t be treated as fringe but are, include the banking and reform committee mission to democratize the dollar supply with congressional oversight, and a call for an investigation into the September 11th and later the anthrax letter bomb attacks.
The platform is also very strong on calling out the corruption of the national security state and diminishment of the 4th amendment that protects against unreasonable search and seizure.
The Green Party media does not promote the BMRC media; nor does the media committee issue an annual September 11th tribute statement criticizing the event as a state crime. If we did promote these issues, we would provide a political home to those who do want a 9/11 investigation, who want truth and justice, and who want to end the banking cartel’s domination of our money supply.
Let’s take a deeper dive into what qualifies as “fringe.” As mentioned, ‘fringe’ issues are code for conspiracy theory which is code for a state crime. Fringe issues range from evil deeds committed by the CIA and FBI, to the JFK assassination, other 1960’s murders; deep state actions against foreign leaders; to illegal geoengineering / weather manipulation; to the September 11 and anthrax attacks; to the covid event and all the wars generated by the 9/11 big lie. We can include the Ukraine war, the October 7 let-it-happen HAMAS attack; to the big lie that attacking Iran makes the world safe from Iranian nuclear threat.
At the bottom of many of these fringe issues, is the military industrial complex, and its related bio-pharmacological, bio warfare, and now high tech surveillance, sector of state, who operate outside the scope of public scrutiny, and are virtually immune to investigation.
By highlighting fringe issue, and showing the malfeasance and the related state crimes, we show our credibility as champions for truth, justice and accountability, and for standing up for ordinary people, for the whole country, against a powerful and ruthless state owned and operated by plutocrats.
How can we know for certain that state crimes are being committed? How do we know the Warren Commission Report and the 9/11 Commission Report are big lies covering up state crimes? Because both reports don’t answer the question of what happened, how was it done, and who could do it. Both reports are obvious lies.
Society’s failure to force Congress to enact justice and get full accountability for state crimes has bred elite impunity.
To repeat: going after fringe issues that reveal state crimes against democracy is morally the right thing to do.
However, it means the Green Party membership needs to adopt an attitude of tolerance toward those that want to highlight state crimes. Many of the fringe issues have been called conspiracy theories to discourage activists from taking on the project. Being called a conspiracy theorist is a slur; people often use the term maliciously, as an adhominem attack on the person putting out the idea. So, tolerance is required.
A Committee for transparency and accountability can take on fringe issues by holding discussions within the GP to advance the green party mission to build a peaceful world. The Green Party national committee should vote the committee into being and provide a home in the party for activists who are passionate about getting accountability and justice for state crimes, and exposing corruption and malfeasance in general.
A Committee for transparency and accountability would the be natural entity within the Green Party to do outreach with Make America Healthy Again, for example, a populist medical freedom group mostly made up of Republicans and independents, who might find a home in the Green Party if they were accepted for “believing” in Medical Freedom.
Ultimately, to advance “going fringe” and honoring the deep seated opposition to violence and corruption by the ruling class and its control of the deep state, green libertarians in the party should organize a Green Liberty Caucus, a collective voice that demands an egalitarian society, and justice for state crimes. The green libertarian sensibility is historically under-represented and deserves the stature as a voice of reason and revolution to be a formal Caucus within the Green Party program.
